We sat down and asked Darienne a few questions about her inspiration for the Kansas Buffalo t-shirt:
- How long have you been an artist? What is your preferred medium and have you created t-shirts before? I have painted my whole life but have been taking it more seriously the past 2 years when I became a stay-at-home mom. It is my first t-shirt design! My go-to medium is acrylics.
- Are you a Kansas native? I am a Kansas native. Been here my whole life!
- There are so many awesome details in this t-shirt! What inspired you and what was your favorite sort of “hidden detail” you fit in? I am big on adding a lot of details to my work to leave viewers wanting to keep looking and see more. I grew up on my grandparents’ farm and had most of the inspiration from there. Scott and Byron also had a vision of what they were wanting so it was fun to bring it to life!
